The ink colour used on prayer slips in The Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, used in contrast with the black and white photography to draw emphasis to the voice of the community of focus.
In this series he isolates elements to engage the audience in a visual dialogue about the iconography most readily associated with Catholicism across Mexico. The monotone black and white takes focus away from traditionally colourful depictions.
